Pick of the week

Last Saturday we had a fun day at Nairobi National Museum.

We particularly enjoyed their collection of stuffed mammals, and the various glass sculptures in the gardens. Caleb chose to eat Kenyan style and quite enjoyed his beef stew... at least, that's what we were told it was.

We even saw our first Nile crocodile!

Continuing the meat theme, we returned to the meat restaurant in Nairobi on Saturday night to say goodbye to our friends Taylor & Allison, who have been living above us with Avery their daughter ever since we arrived in Nairobi. They are finally moving to Malakal and we will miss them. Who knows though, we may become neighbours again one day!
On Monday SIM's resident builder finally began work upgrading the water tanks and pump outside our flats. Hopefully this mean we don't run out of water quite so often! Fortunately, the water was off for three days at the start of the week, which made the job easier!

On Wednesday we had our last Arabic lesson of the 'term'. Dau was delighted with the study Bible we gave him as a thank you present. The first complete Bible he has owned.

Caleb enjoyed his first Birthday treat on Thursday when the Congdon family (who we stayed with at Kijabe) brought him some chocolate doughnuts. Is it just me or do his eyes look even browner?!

Also brown, Caleb was impressed with the colour of the water after he washed his feet that day!
