Robin & Eileen 2 - Return to Hell's Gate

Sorry it has been so long since our last blog posting. We were having too much fun in Nairobi with Justin’s parents and then back in Doro with Robin.

A highlight of our time in Nairobi was 3 nights at Crater Lake in the Rift Valley, with a day in Hell’s Gate National Park. The experience of the holiday was walking down the gorge, which involved sliding down 10 foot high rock formations – well done Eileen!

We also had a memorable day at the David Sheldrake Elephant orphanage.

Back in Doro the kids were delighted to have Grandpa’s company for a few more days.

We kept him busy and lined up as many Mabaan cultural experiences as we could. A highlight was a one day conference for church leaders in Gasmala on the Saturday.

Wherever we took him Dad made friends with everyone and couldn’t keep his camera in his pocket. Here he is with some Arab men at the clinic…

He was suitably impressed on his tour of the water project’s activities (here he is with the drilling rig)…

And thoroughly approved of how much the Sudanese like to drink tea!
And here he is trying the local transport…

He quickly worked out the best way to relax when it is all getting a bit much!
