A sunny breakfast on the veranda
Our cabin - no glass or anything in the window which made for a great view but a required level of trust in local animals and people not to take advantage!
The kids were very happy to be back to outdoor living and kept themselves busy playing with fire - we are responsible parents honestly!
A touch of class at Naivasha Country Club - but who let these two in?!
Not a local species of monkey....
Hippo spotting from the jetty. Paul, Caleb and Deborah had an amazing expedition over to Crescent Island for a walk among the giraffe, wildebeeste, zebra and antelope that live there. Totally magical! Forgot camera but glad as it was best experienced with no pressure to capture - sorry for you though.
Taking an interest in Matt's diary
Creating her own memories
One of many candlelit games of Settlers
The girls had a great day out together - having a lakeside picnic and visiting Joy Adamson's house for Born Free memorabilia and a high tea on the lawn watched over by Colobus monkeys.
Whilst the boys climbed Mount Longonot - a 'senile' volcano (very nearly extinct)
They came back covered in grey, ashy, dust and you can see why
A side vent
Walking around the rim of the crater
but they didn't go down (VERY steep)
They had a fantastic view from above
The climb to the summit took 1 hour, the walk around the rim was 3 hours and Caleb still had lots of energy when they got home - how do I use that up on a normal day?!
The best tasting Coke ever (according to Justin)
On our last morning the boys went kayaking
whilst we enjoyed fun in the sun on dry land
let's hope the wind doesn't change
