February half-term was spent in a beautiful, simple, holiday home called Ol D'Acha. It's only an hour out of Nairobi but in the middle of Masai land and not another building in sight when looking out over the valley. Very peaceful and our 'bush' children brightened up immediately they saw all their outside (and rugged) play area!
The greenish tinge of the eco-friendly plunge pool didn't put them off!
Justin did all the cooking and did it superbly
Who needs TV when you can watch a sunset like this?
Evenings were spent snug around an open fire, playing games and eating chocolate
Lunches were often outside and we each had some hammock-time too
Not a house in sight!
Soaking it all in
If Bethanie turned around, this is what she'd see - the main living area is just open to the view!
Someone is ready to go exploring...
Deborah hasn't fallen over, she's just pausing to take in the miniature beauty as well as the views (honest!)
Time for a bit of wood-carving
Toasting marshmallows
Magical mists
A cute coupleStanding on the edge of the world
The shower
The view from the shower
The path to the shower
Enjoying the shower!
Amazing flora...
...and feathery friends
Rainstorm approaching
Path to the living room
In front of the fire on a rainy morning
Patterns in the plants...
...and on the tables (the owner makes and sells these)
A wonderful holiday (especially as we weren't staying in the bedroom where the roof leaked a bit!)
