May - Monkeying around in Nairobi

Early May saw Deborah make a flying visit to the UK for her Grandad's 90th birthday party (see next post). The family still managed to have some fun without Mum around ;)
Caleb put the last piece into the 2000 piece jigsaw puzzle he did most of the work on (thanks for loaning it Claire and Tohru!).
It was so big it needed 2 puzzle boards to fit it on.

It was school disco season too and Bethanie's came first - the theme was "Under the sea"
A highly skilled Dad made this clever fish costume - love the face Beth!

Justin continued to teach Sunday School to a very large class of 7-10 year olds

Our regular monkey visitors found a branch enabling them to cross into our compound for the first time and the gardeners had fun chasing them out!

Then it was the turn of Caleb for the school disco - his theme was 'The Future'
School bags become rocket packs - that would save time on the school run!

Both kids got to enjoy a Java House supper with Dad whilst the other was at the disco - Bethanie always chooses fish and chips - a true Brit!

After Deborah arrived home we spent a special evening at the end of May with the Conard family, including Mark's Mum (should say 'Mom' as she's from the US) who was visiting.  The two eldest girls were flying back to the States with their grandma, marking the end of their time in Kenya.  The others will follow at the end of July.  This family have been SUCH a blessing to us as they served our team in Pastoral Care.
TWO chickens needed for 12 people I think!
Stacey, Mark, Grace, Katie, Isaac, Josiah, Caleb, Bethanie, Ben, Lynda and Deborah (L to R)
Dinner was followed by a fun game of 'Empires' (Isaac, second youngest, was the winner)
