August 2014 - Brittany

As part of our Grand Tour we just HAD to visit Justin's parents in Britanny - such hardships!  Robin and Eileen were living in the very pretty village of Cancale, just near St Malo.  They were there to encourage and support the French church.
While grandparents enjoyed time with C&B, Justin, Matt and Deborah took a 6 mile hike around the beautiful local coastal path

And of course finished off in a cafe!

St Malo has plenty of old, picturesque sea forts from less peaceful days

All these nieces and nephews are a bit much for Uncle Matt!

Fun on the beach

And just look at that beach!

When the tide goes out you can see the oyster beds which produce a harvest the area is famous for

Bethanie and Jacob preferred crepes!

A family friend, Christine, helped Caleb discover he LOVES fruits de mer thanks to her amazing paella - he gobbled up squid, mussels, prawns and stole them off my plate too - I should have sat him next to Daddy who would have been much more ready to share!

What a lovely family xxx
