October - children take centre stage

Looking at our photos for October - there's a bit of a theme (see title)!  And this is before all the babies due on our team are born...
Caleb and Ali did well in their magic show and sitting through the whole talent contest was actually a pleasure (I was wondering)

This little guy, Kaioke, was the winner with an amazing rendition of "When I feel afraid, I whistle a happy tune"

And Caleb had his turn at Sports Day - his friend Mikey just beat him in this race.  Caleb's event was the 800m where he went from 10th to 2nd in his final lap - awesome to watch!
Running with a smile on his face

A new team member, Robbo from Australia, arrived just in time to celebrate his 40th birthday.

Friday games night was at our house that week and there were A LOT of children staying up past their bedtimes!
We did manage some civilised conversation too -  here with Amy and Allison
This was the competitive table

Another weekend there was a baby shower for Claire and Michelle, both due in January

The 'diaper cake' (I have to call it that as it's a US tradition)

Look at those beautiful feet - henna done by the ladies in Melut

The team clubbed together to get these quilts, plus lots of other goodies, for Michelle (above) and Claire (below).

To complete the child-centred theme, Justin went away on a Sunday School teachers' training weekend.
He wasn't too sure about these whole fried fish

But the team-building games were good

And leading one another blindfolded proved a very powerful experience.  We may not know where we are going but if we are holding God's hand we can trust Him to guide us.

Brings back some Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles memories!

Can you tell they are staying just on the other side of the National Park?
