Week 8 - Deb's parents celebrate their Ruby (40th) Wedding Anniversary with all the family

It was special to spend our final week in the UK with Deborah's parents, grandparents, siblings, nieces, nephews (and for one day aunties, uncles and cousins too!).  We travelled to Gloucestershire and met up with good friends on the way.  Justin was best man at Jon & Ju-Ann's wedding around 13 years ago and now our kids are getting to know one another too.

The beautiful woodlands of the Sherbourne Estate - we didn't walk very far/fast as there were too many fun things to play on along the way!

A perfect picnic spot

Then it was onto Coughton Lodge - slept 20!

Uncle Paul being a good sport in the swimming pool

Grandad behind the camera as usual

4 generations of mothers and daughters, all who have called Kenya 'home' at some point!

Granny & Grandad with all their grandchildren

Deb's sister Tracy with her 3 (L to R), Max, Callum and Rebecca

Deb's brother Jon with his family - you can tell they are the sensible ones can't you?!  (L to R) Joshua, Jon, Esther, Ruth and Noah.

A very scary pig we met on a walk

Coughton Court - we were staying in what was once the lodge for the estate - or possibly our bit was the stables for the lodge!

I love a nice herbaceous border

Present-time!

Jon managed to find a USB packaged in a cute bottle that he then put number one hits from all their 40 years on!

I love this one of Callum and Becky

On the Thursday evening we realised our plan of leaving the kids with grandparents and nipping home a bit ahead of the others to get a full day's packing in was not going to work.  When you're about to move countries again your kids need to be right with you.  So after some very soggy goodbyes, we all bundled into the car and got back to Mum & Dad's to pack.  We needed 2 cars to get us and our bags to the airport (thanks Bob!) but none were overweight - record!

Waiting at Heathrow again.  That's one well travelled Teddy!

Thank you Lord Jesus for a wonderful summer - so many sun-filled, love-filled memories.  We don't feel ready for the year ahead but we know we've been well-prepared.
