Week 6 - Jersey

Jersey is only an hour's ferry ride from St Malo, although we're back to pounds and pence here!  We had nearly a week to enjoy the island where Justin's dad's family are all from and where Justin spent most of his first 14 years.
Beware playing Bethanie at Uno - she usually wins!

Jersey, part of the UK, was occupied during the Second World War.  This sculpture commemorates Liberation Day.
Caleb and Beth LOVED this swimming pool

Fish and chip supper plus cricket on the beach - very British (except for the sunshine!)

The accommodation Eileen had found for us was beautiful... and only slept 2!  So each evening the kids went to stay with their grandparents and Uncle Matt...

...and Justin and I got to have moonlit walks on the beach - awesome!

Bethanie enjoyed meeting Joseph's guinea-pig, Squidge

Perfect reflections of sky, sea and sand at Bouley Bay

Sparkles and smiles

 Happy rock-pooling at Green Island

Caleb and Joseph

Jersey has every kind of beach you could want - sandy, pebbly, cliffs, long and flat, or a mixture as Green Island demonstrates.

Uncle Jamie is a champion cyclist and the boys go to have some practice at the local track.

Jamie's got some stiff competition here!

"See a rock, climb it!"  is Caleb's motto

St Brelades beach - our cottage was just behind the church - 2 minutes walk from the beach and 5 mins drive from Fiona's house.

Justin's Granny Elizabeth had her 90th birthday celebration whilst we were there.

Granny and her 4 children - Robin, Anne, Jean and David

I love this photo!
